Current job title and employer and briefly describe what it is you do: I am currently employed by the Grand Isle Union District, teaching art for grade PK-6 in the Champlain Island Unified Union District schools of Grand Isle School and North Hero School.

Academic experience at Saint Michael's College help prepare you for your career: I did the second half of my solo-teaching unit remotely, which really prepared me for the Fall 2020 hybrid schedule where there were two different cohorts coming to school and a third remote cohort that took lessons online.

Favorite memory or class from your time studying at St. Mike’s: Our final class was done mostly remotely thanks to the global pandemic of COVID-19. The MAT final class is basically created around individualized research projects. The presentations were done over two, four-hour zoom sessions and consisted of 30+ presentations. For my research project, I chose to study how to teach the visual arts to visually impaired students. I learned a lot from this project including making a contact out in the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. My first teaching job includes teaching two color-blind students so my research is automatically put into practice which brings me back to seeing all my classmate’s presentations and hoping others having this immediate relevance with their projects.

Completed or are completing a graduate program, please provide the name of the degree and institution: Master of Art in Teaching, Art Education PK-12, Saint Michael’s College
