Rosanne Kilty ’77
Rosanne Kilty, Dover, N.H., died February 15, 2025, of cancer.
Affectionately known as Rosie or Auntie Rosie, she was born in Dover, NH, one of three sisters. She began her education at St. Mary’s Academy in Dover before attending St. Thomas for high school. She continued her studies in college as a history major at Saint Michael’s where she formed lifelong friendships.
Rosie built a successful career at John Hancock in Boston for many years as a systems analyst before transferring to the Portsmouth, NH, office. During her time in Boston, she especially loved taking the bus to work, a routine she looked forward to each day. Some of her fondest memories were riding down with her niece, Carolyn Brackett—while Carolyn went to school, she headed to work. Their shared trips had many special moments. At John Hancock, she managed many employees with kindness, humor, and dedication. She admired was for her strong work ethic and ability to brighten others’ days.
A lifelong animal lover, Rosie dedicated much of her time to the Pope Memorial Humane Society – Cocheco Valley, where she found joy in caring for and walking the dogs. Knowing she was making a difference in the lives of animals brought her immense happiness.
Among her greatest joys was the special bond she shared with her sister, Lucia. From childhood through adulthood, they were inseparable—always embarking on adventures, traveling, and creating treasured memories. Her love of travel took her across the U.S. and abroad to Ireland and Italy, where she explored her family’s heritage, often sharing these experiences with Lucia.
Rosie loved the community at Farmwood Village, where she lived for many years. Her friends there were a huge source of support throughout her battle with cancer, standing by her side with love and encouragement. She encountered her cancer with the same inspiring resilience and grace that defined her life.
She was a Fellows Club supporter of the College.
Rosie is survived by a sister and extended family.
