Robert J. Conlin, Cary, NC, died February 14, 2024. Bob was the Saint Michael’s Alumnus of the Year in 1974 and served on the Alumni Board of Directors in 1973-74.

Bob attended high school in his hometown of Springfield, MA. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Saint Michael’s as well as a commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He participated in the College’s Air Force ROTC program and was Commander of the Saint Michael’s ROTC Drill Team, which won 1st place in the New England Drill Team competition.

After college, he met and married Lucille Frances St. Martin in 1960. Bob’s business career has included management opportunities with American Cyanamid, Hoffman-LaRoche and 22 years with Becton Dickinson. Additionally, he spent three years on active duty in the Air Force followed by five years in the Massachusetts Air National Guard.

In 1965, Bob and Lu relocated to Pequannock, NJ, where they lived until retirement. When Bob retired from Becton Dickinson in 1994, he and Lu moved to Holly Springs, NC. He spent many years there playing golf. He was also very involved in youth baseball in Pequannock and Holly Springs.

Bob and Lu have spent many years visiting family and friends and enjoying many sights in the U.S. and several countries in Europe. Throughout his life, he has treasured his entire family and loved spending time with all of them. He was also a very enthusiastic sports fan, closely following his beloved Boston Red Sox, New York Giants, Carolina Hurricanes and NC Wolfpack.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by a son, four daughters and extended family.
