Richard Clifford, ’53
Richard Clifford, Bradenton, FL, died March 16, 2023, the College learned recently. Dick served as class agent for the Class of 1953 in the 1970s and 1980s.
An Army veteran who left the service as a corporal. Dick earned his Saint Michael’s degree in sociology, and while a student, was active in intramural athletics.
In the 1990s and early 2000s Dick worked as an audio/visual specialist for Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton. Earlier in his professional career he was self-employed (as Baktec, Inc.), specializing in back support sales, and before that, worked in sales for Sara Mana Business Products in Sarasota, FL.
In the 1970s he was self-employed (Clifford Business Equipment) selling primarily copying equipment. In the 1960s he worked in the publishing industry as an assistant with Scholastic Magazines, Inc. in New Jersey. He enjoyed following sports and politics.
Dick was married to Sarah, and earlier, to Barbara, according to alumni surveys from different decades. These surveys show he had a daughter and four grandchildren. No obituary or word about survivors was available.
