Philip A. Griffin ’58

Philip A. Griffin, Sanford, NC, died July 28, 2024.

Phil was born in Rutland, VT. A Navy veteran, he served active duty from 1958 to 1960. At Saint Michael’s he majored in business administration and sang in the glee club. Later he did graduate studies at George Washington University in the nation’s capital.

His professional career included serving in several roles for Equifax Services in Sanford including field representative, auditor, commercial specialist. Earlier, in the 1960s he worked for Retail Credit Corporation in Washington, DC, as an investigator and trainer.

In Sanford, Phil was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church Wednesday Morning Crew, Knights of Columbus, and Extension Master Gardener Volunteers.

As a father of four girls, he was also co-leader with his wife, Ann, of several Girl Scout Troops. Phil loved spending time at Long Beach with his family.

Phil is survived by his wife, Ann, four daughters and extended family.
