Michael Mahovich ’62
Michael Mahovich, Jr., Boynton Beach, FL, died August 28, 2020, the College learned recently.
Youngest of four children, Mike was raised in Pennsylvania as well as New Jersey. After Saint Michael’s he married his high school sweetheart and joined the Air Force as an officer, having completed the College’s AFROTC of that time. He resigned his service honorably as a captain after his tour in Vietnam as a navigator on a B52.
He became a successful State Farm Agent in 1976 in Coral Springs, FL, where he achieved many honors and much success growing his business as the city grew. Mike’s warmth, love, and generous spirit helped and inspired so many others around him. He was loved and respected by all that knew him, and was often remembered for his piercing, crystal blue eyes.
Mike and his wife had a passion for world travel, making new friends along the way. Mike’s greatest love was spending time with his family. He was a dedicated husband caring for Joy steadfastly during her two-year battle with cancer and cherished spending time with his two children and granddaughter.
His wife of 52 years, Joy, died in 2014. Michael is survived by a daughter, a son, a brother and extended family.
