James M. Terlizzo, Flagler Beach, FL, died December 1, 2024.

Born in Stamford, CT, Jim was a graduate of Stamford High School and went on after Saint Michael’s to earn his master’s degree in history at Notre Dame (1968), becoming a passionate educator. He also completed an education sixth year graduate program at Bridgeport University in 1991.

He taught for many years and ultimately served as the department chair for history and social studies at Stamford High School. His love for history and his dedication to his students had a lasting impact on countless young minds. He retired in 2005, leaving behind a legacy of academic excellence and mentorship.

In retirement, James split his time between Flagler Beach and Vermont. He enjoyed the beauty of both places and time spent with friends and family. He was known for his warm heart, quick wit, and deep curiosity about the world, which he passed on to those around him. His love of history, his generosity, and his deep appreciation for nature and travel were just a few of the qualities that defined him. He was a President’s Medallion supporter of the College.

Jim is survived by extended family.
