Edward J. Trombley ’55

Edward J. Trombley, Plattsburgh, NY, died March 5, 2024.

Ed was born and raised in Plattsburgh. After Saint Michael’s he graduated from Albany Law School in 1959 and became a partner at the law firm of Fitzpatrick, Bennett, and Trombley, which over the years has become Plattsburgh’s largest law practice.

He will be remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, and love of friends and family. His greatest joys were boating on Lake Champlain, golfing at Bluff Point, vacationing on Grand Cayman, and spending time with his family. He was a fan of the New York football Giants. He was a President’s Medallion supporter of the College.

Ed is survived by his wife, Deborah, three sons including John Trombley ’84, four daughters including Susan “Sue” Phillips ’88, a sister and extended family.
