Dr. Raymond Altieri ’72
Dr. Raymond Altieri, M.D., Baltimore, MD, died August 8, 2024.
Raymond was born in Providence, RI, and lived in Baltimore since 1979. He was a dedicated physician in Baltimore County since 1984.
Raymond’s educational journey began at Cranston (RI) High School West, where he graduated with honors in 1968. At Saint Michael’s he graduated magna cum laude in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Raymond then earned his medical degree cum laude from the University of Rome, Italy, in 1977. He completed his internship and residency at Sinai and Johns Hopkins Hospitals from 1978 to 1981.
His medical career was marked by his commitment to medicine and public health. He served as the former Chief of Medicine for the City of Baltimore, the USPS/Department of Labor in Baltimore, and AIDS Action Baltimore. His contributions to the community and his patients were profound.
Raymond cherished his childhood summers spent at the ocean with his grandparents. As an adult, he enjoyed time in Annapolis, MD, musical theater, and antique telephones. His legacy of compassion and dedication to his patients and community will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by a sister, a brother and extended family.
