Arthur J. Lovely III ’52
Arthur J. Lovely III, New York, NY, died March 14, 2025. He was the Saint Michael’s College Alumnus of the Year in 1971.
A native son of Orange, MA, Art served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War Conflict and attained the rank of corporal.
For many years after graduating from Saint Michael’s, Art was active in the College’s basketball recruiting program. His knowledge, insight, and love of the game was highly regarded by many prominent figures involved in the sport.
His business career started at Reuben H Donnelley, and he eventually moved on to Litton Industries until, in the 1970s, he started his own executive search company, Arthur J. Loveley Associates, which he headed until retirement.
Art was known for his quick Irish wit, noticeable Boston accent, fierce love of country and all things sports related.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rita Virginia (Ciabattari), in 2000. He is survived by two sons including Peter Lovely’ 79, and extended family.
