Theatre Learning Outcomes

The Learning Outcomes for the Theatre program are guided by seven core standards broken into three major themes. These learning outcomes are embedded in the courses, assessments, and extracurricular opportunities throughout the Theatre major and minor. The program is designed around the fundamental idea that theatre helps you understand and tell stories for yourself, collaborators, and the public. Students develop sets of skills to research, critically analyze, and creatively contribute to theatrical productions. To remain in good standing in the Theatre program, students are expected to meet three benchmarks over the course of their program: maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher in their courses; participate regularly in departmental productions as a performer, designer, technician and/or stage manager; and meet proficiency on the capstone project.
