Accounting Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes of the Business Administration and Accounting program prepares students to make decisions, communicate, and collaborate in a range of organizations through the integration of business and the liberal arts. Our professional and diverse faculty is committed to student learning and development. Our plan is to assess each learning outcome under three criteria: Content (understanding of business and accounting knowledge and theory); Cognition (ability to draw connections from content; synthesize, formulate, and argue/persuade); and Application (apply theory (content and cognition) to practice). Throughout the Business Administration and Accounting program, assessment occurs through exams, assigned readings, computer simulations, case studies, research papers, field interviews/experience, and presentations.
Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the Business Administration and Accounting program:
- Act ethically and professionally to uphold organizations’ positive role in society;
- Work, collaborate, and lead in diverse teams and organizations;
- Apply written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and use information technology effectively;
- Analyze organizational context, strategy, operations, processes, and performance;
- Synthesize and evaluate data to support factual and ethical decision-making in a dynamic global economy;
- Combine liberal arts and business studies to define problems and propose solutions; and
- Initiate and advance self-learning, career planning, and personal development.
