Information Systems Learning Outcomes

Graduates who successfully complete an Information Systems major  are assessed in three ways during the course of their program: 1) a 2.0 GPA or higher in their major required courses; 2) meeting expectations in their Capstone course assignments; and 3) successful performance on presentations in their Senior Capstone course.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the major, Information Systems graduates are able to:

  • Combine liberal arts and business studies to define problems and propose solutions
  • Initiate and advance self-learning, career planning, and personal development
  • Work, collaborate, and lead in diverse teams and organizations
  • Effectively apply written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and use information technology
  • Analyze organizational context, strategy, operations, processes, and performance
  • Effectively code, debug, test and document programs using various programming languages and tools
  • Implement technology solutions including relational databases and data driven websites
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and orally, to diverse audiences
  • Synthesize and evaluate data to support factual and ethical decision-making to uphold organizations’ positive role in society
