Information Systems Learning Outcomes
Graduates who successfully complete an Information Systems major are assessed in three ways during the course of their program: 1) a 2.0 GPA or higher in their major required courses; 2) meeting expectations in their Capstone course assignments; and 3) successful performance on presentations in their Senior Capstone course.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the major, Information Systems graduates are able to:
- Combine liberal arts and business studies to define problems and propose solutions
- Initiate and advance self-learning, career planning, and personal development
- Work, collaborate, and lead in diverse teams and organizations
- Effectively apply written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and use information technology
- Analyze organizational context, strategy, operations, processes, and performance
- Effectively code, debug, test and document programs using various programming languages and tools
- Implement technology solutions including relational databases and data driven websites
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and orally, to diverse audiences
- Synthesize and evaluate data to support factual and ethical decision-making to uphold organizations’ positive role in society
