Dmitri Beliakov, is a freelance photojournalist originally from Moscow, Russia. For five years, from 2014-2019 he covered events in the east of Ukraine where he explored the fanaticism that is driving the largest war in Europe in a generation; the transformative effects of the conflict on both the pro-Ukrainian government fighters and Moscow-backed armed separatists; and the tragedy of the most vulnerable: the elderly, the ill and the poor of the region. Over 50 of his moving photographs will be on display.
