MAT Workshop: Common Read Educator Panel with Address by Mascot Author Traci Sorell

The author of MASCOT, Traci Sorell, will deliver a virtual keynote address at our panel event with local educators and administrators. This event will be an opportunity for dialogue, learning, and perspective sharing regarding the issue of harmful and racist mascots. We will also examine the curricular and pedagogical implications of the many themes throughout the book including racism, identity, tradition, sports culture, activism, family dynamics, power, multiculturalism, and teacher practices. This is a UPLIFT event!
