Judge Anisa Rasooli, Nominee to Supreme Court of Afghanistan, “The Importance of Female Judges in Fragile States: The Challenge of Education and Justice in Afghanistan”

Judge Rasooli will reflect on her educational and professional path in Afghanistan as a female member of the judiciary, share highlights of how the judiciary was evolving in Afghanistan, and discuss the role the judicial system was playing in helping to empower women in Afghan society prior to the return of the Taliban. Judge Rasooli’s nieces Manizha and Waslat Rasoli, first-year students here at Saint Michael’s College, will be accompanying her in this presentation.
