For over a decade Christine has immersed herself in the realm of agriculture and food-based education. She gained initial teaching and field crop production experience working at various educational farms throughout the northeast, including Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, the Merck Forest and Farmland Center, and Shelburne Farms. Inspired by the observed impact of experiential educational opportunities, Christine transitioned to supporting K-12 schools in the development and implementation of sustainable Farm to School programs. In this capacity, she spent several years managing school gardens and teaching cooking classes, first as a FoodCorps service member in Midcoast Maine and then as the Garden Education Coordinator for the Burlington School District inVermont. Immediately prior to joining the Saint Michael’s community, Christine was serving as Program Director at KidsGardening where she oversaw the annual distribution of over $150,000 in grant funding to youth garden programs across the United States.
Christine received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Haverford College and holds a Master’s of Science in Sustainable Food Systems with a concentration in Biodiversity and Sustainable Diets from Prescott College. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, playing board games, hiking, and camping.
