Research

The overarching theme of my research program is to exploit various dynamic processes of boron to develop new organic transformations. My group has previously demonstrated several new organic transformations, which include a re-investigation of a classic reaction, the development of the first method for titrating boron trihalides, and a cyclization method for the preparation of benzofurans. This work laid a strong foundation for several ongoing research projections. Fundamentally, I run a “make and measure” research laboratory where undergraduate students develop diverse skills in organic synthesis, modern analytical techniques, and biochemical processes.

Please see my website for more details about ongoing projects.
