• The intern will be mainly shadowing and working under the supervision of local doctors, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists with both child and adult patients

SSVN’s wish is that every family in Vietnam soon has at least 1 person who knows how to do accurate first aid. Besides that, SSVN also partners with Surf Life Saving Australia to provide water safety and water rescue training for swimmers and professional rescuers.
In 2022, SSVN expands our education to mental health/wellbeing to public groups and companies as one of our new core products in addition to first aid and water rescue programs. After Covid, the number of people suffering from depression increased and thus mental health awareness is needed much more than before. SSVN is also in the progress of developing nutrition related products. Currently SSVN offers three core training courses to individuals, enterprises and communities in these areas mentioned above. We have education programs to raise awareness, training programs to enhance the skills. For first aid, we have already developed various products including offline in-class training courses, blended training, e-learning, Youtube, Tiktok and a first aid guidance app in Vietnamese for free download. We have lots of resources for community learning, especially for people in remote areas and vulnerable communities. Recently we also recently developed the Hazard Awareness programs for schools with the aim to prevent accidents from happening in the first place, which we are happy to offer free to schools.
SSVN team include passionate people and volunteers who are committed with great efforts to alleviate avoidable suffering, disabilities and mortalities. We at SSVN are well aware that we cannot do this alone. In this journey, SSVN needs various resources and contributions. And we truly appreciate each of your support in realizing these meaningful and essential knowledge and skills across Vietnam and furthermore in South East Asia in the near future.

Main responsibility of this post is to assist the SSVN team to develop some concrete Mental Health related products including research, develop contents, create activities, create communication materials to raise awareness of Vietnamese about the importance of mental health/well-being and practical connect activities and programs for various aged groups.
• Problem: Mental health/Wellbeing awareness education and services in Vietnam are still very underdeveloped, therefore mental health knowledge is vital for the community. Plenty of wrong beliefs about depression and other mental health issues create gaps and judgements, which prevent people from finding the relevant support when needed, usually they have to handle their issues alone or hide/mark their problems until their situations are too serious, which are often too late and cause severe harms to themselves or others. SSVN has limited resources and in particular international support due to our lack of international communication. Social enterprise is still often not well-understood therefore often social enterprises are not listed or given priorities in funding criteria of funding organizations.
• Tentative tasks: Support in social media posts such as infographics about international evidence about importance of mental health/wellbeing, videos, etc. Research related effective and sustainable community approaches for mental health/well-being, in particular depressions at various aged groups with similar socio-economic background/context and development. Adopt approaches that may be suitable with the context of Vietnam. Design, create and graphics content/videos with multiple formats for different mediums including website, Youtube, Tiktok, Facebook, etc. Support in development and implementation of SSVN’s communication strategies related to mental health to tell the stories of SSVN on international channels.

In the short term, Research Center for Infectious Disease will become one of the leading research centers on infectious diseases in Vietnam, contributing to developing high-quality human resources for the locality and the whole country. In the long term, the Center aims to develop into a Center of excellent research on Infectious Diseases in Southeast Asia, capable of creating and providing technological solutions and services in response to the epidemic diseases that may develop in our society.

• In this project, the intern student is expected to go to the farms with other members of the research team for sampling, then transport the obtained samples to the laboratory for bacterial isolation, culture and identification using microbiological and molecular techniques.
• Morphological traits, antimicrobial susceptibility profile and other phenotypic features are also studied, recorded and analyzed by the intern student.
• Methods to be trained include basic microbiological techniques, PCR, AST, sequencing, data analysis and other soft skills.

The Faculty of International Relations comes from the Department of International Relations, under the Faculty of Law & International Relations, University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City. The International Relations program focuses on training students with a global citizen's necessary skills and basic knowledge. With the motto of training with practice, the training program focuses on linking teaching theory with practical forms such as simulation, negotiation, presentation, foreign professional practice, etc. From 2021, the Faculty of International Relations has developed and includes 04 narrow majors: Diplomatic Operations, International Journalism, Politics - Diplomacy; Sustainable Development.

Teaching Assistant: Course: Human security and Academic English in International Relations
• Help Lecturers with lesson preparation, including collecting materials and setting up class activities
• Review lessons with students in small groups
• Supervise students in class, between classes and during recreation periods and field trips
• Track attendance, grading assignments and calculating grades
• Give extra help to students who need special accommodations or are struggling with a concept
• Assist students with special learning requirements, including English as a second language students
Research assistant (depending on researching fields of the intern)
• Conduct literature reviews
• Collect and analyze data
• Supervise undergraduate students working on the research project (maintaining records on assignment completion, acting as liaison/mediator between the undergraduate students and the faculty researcher)
• Attend project meetings
• Assisting in student service learning activities or projects.
