Chapter Requirements

Saint Michael’s College – VT Alpha Chapter Requirements for Membership

The Scholarship Committee of the VT Alpha Chapter shall consist of the permanent faculty members of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

The requirements for student membership are:

• Have completed Sophomore year and have Junior standing
• Have completed the Calculus Sequence through Calculus III (MA 211)
• Have completed 2 additional MA/ST courses numbered 200 or above
• MA/ST GPA of 3.50 or higher [Only MA and ST courses numbered 150 or above will be included in the calculation of the MA/ST GPA for membership eligibility.]
• Overall GPA of 3.20 or higher
• Review and approval by the Scholarship Committee.

In exceptional circumstances, students who meet the national minimum requirements, but fail to meet one or more of the Chapter requirements, may be considered for membership at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
