Random Acts of Kindness spreads peace, love and sunshine on campus

September 29, 2023

Saint Michael’s College Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) club creates around 24 projects every year, all with the purpose of spreading peace, love and sunshine. Their first project of the school year was the Positive Affirmation Station, on display in the Zen Zone in Alliot. For that project, the RAK team transformed several full-length mirrors into affirmation stations by covering the glass with colorful sticky notes with handwritten messages like,”You Slay” and “You are loved.”

On Sept. 21, the group celebrated International Day of Peace by creating a Peace Tree on the lawn next to Joyce. The Saint Michael’s College community dropped by their crafting table to decorate the tree with uplifting messages such as “Every act of kindness spreads peace to the world, love to the heart, light to us all.”

“The messages on there are beautiful. I have chills. There are such inspiring quotes,” said Amy Hylen ’25 at the event. Hylen is the Random Acts of Kindness Co-President this year.
