What do you like most about teaching/working at Saint Michael's College?
We have many interested and engaged students, and our classes are small enough that I feel that I can get to know students pretty well academically and personally.
What do you like about Saint Michael's students?
Most that I know seem to truly appreciate the fact that Saint Michael's provides good opportunites for personal and intellectual growth, and they take advantage of it.
What kinds of unique opportunities are available to students in your classes or department?
In the biology department we have good opportunities for highly motivated students to become engaged in the research projects of some of the faculty. My own research on local fishes, for example, has been significantly enhanced by the participation of students, some of whom have received funding to remain on campus through the summer to do research. In some cases, I've accompanied students to professional conferences to see them present their research, and I've also had some research publications with students as co-authors.
