For students who may have missed the chance to visit with a Saint Michael's College counselor at their high school, they can meet with him or her at a local coffee house.
High school students in over 30 cities are invited to take advantage of this unusual offer to meet one-on-one with a representative of Saint Michael's College. With this new twist on the high school visit, Saint Michael's is sending its representatives not only to high schools around the nation, but also to nearby Starbucks and other coffee houses.
The college Web site
www.smcvt.edu/coffee details the schedule of visits, and explains how to make an appointment for a one-on-one chat. These meetings allow students to tell Saint Michael's who they are and to learn about this college that offers education with a social conscience.
"Join a member of the Office of Admission staff at your local coffee house," the website states. "Take advantage of this opportunity for Saint Michael's College to learn about you and for you to learn more about us over a hot beverage (our treat!)"
The "Coffee with a Counselor" program began in September with seven Saint Michael's counselors offering students appointments this fall in New England, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and points west.
Cities hosting Coffee with a Saint Michael's Counselor include:
